SELF CARE
DOPATTA

Pakistan has the highest rate of breast cancer in South Asia. Nearly half of those women die, not because treatment doesn't exist, but because the conversation doesn't. In a country where the word "breast" is too uncomfortable to say out loud, awareness doesn't stand a chance. So Ali Xeeshan and Generation didn't try to start a conversation. They started with an object. A dopatta, the same veil women use to cover their chests, embroidered with poetry by Asma Nabeel, a breast cancer warrior who didn't survive to see it. Hung in closets across the country, it became a daily, quiet, impossible-to-ignore reminder: check yourself. No awkward conversation required.
